Iran has confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in an attack. This news was broadcast on Iranian state media this Sunday morning. BBC and CNN reported.
Iran’s state media IRIB reported this morning, “Iran’s Supreme Leader has been martyred” (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un).
In an announcement on state television, the presenter said in a tearful voice that 40 days of national mourning have been declared across the country. During this time, the national flag has been ordered to be flown at half-mast and all types of state events have been limited.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump claimed in a message on social media that Khamenei had been killed after the recent attack. Later, Iranian state media confirmed this.
