Army Chief lays foundation stone of ‘Bangladesh Olympic Complex’ in Trishal, Mymensingh

Desk Report:

The foundation stone of the ‘Bangladesh Olympic Complex’, to be built jointly by the Bangladesh Olympic Association and the Bangladesh Army, has been laid. A ceremony was organized on this occasion at 11:30 am on Sunday (February 1, 2026) at the Trishal Military Training Area in Mymensingh.

Honorable President of the Bangladesh Olympic Association and Chief of the Bangladesh Army, General Waqar-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, PSC, was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, was present as the special guest.

After the foundation stone laying ceremony, the Executive Committee meeting of the Bangladesh Olympic Association No. 01/2026 was held at 2:00 pm. The meeting discussed various activities of the organization, future plans and important issues related to sports development.
