EU Ambassador Michael Miller pays courtesy call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Thursday (January 29, 2026).

During the meeting, Ambassador Michael Miller reiterated the European Union’s strong support for Bangladesh’s ongoing democratic transformation and reform process. He said the EU expects a fair, peaceful and credible election to be held in Bangladesh.

The Ambassador further noted that the European Union is ready to work with whichever government is formed through the upcoming elections and is keen to further strengthen EU-Bangladesh bilateral relations.
