Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony of the 6th China-Bangladesh Friendship Bridge renovation project on Sunday (December 28, 2025). Md. Abdur Rauf, Bridges Division, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges was present at the event.
In his speech, Ambassador Yao Wen highlighted the importance of China’s cooperation in the development of infrastructure and the friendly relations between the two countries. The renovation project will further enhance the safety, sustainable use and convenience of vehicular movement of the bridge.
