A special prayer meeting was held at the BGMEA office in Uttara on Sunday (November 30, 2025) for the early recovery of three-time former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The meeting, chaired by BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, was attended by the organization’s current and former leadership, directors, standing committee chairman, co-chairman and general members.
Former President Kazi Moniruzzaman, Senior Vice President Enamul Haque Khan, Vice President Md. Rezwan Selim, Vice President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman, Vice President Md. Shihab Uddoza Chowdhury, Director Majumder Arifur Rahman, Director Sheikh Hossain Mohammad Mostafiz, Director Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Director Asef Kamal Pasha, Director Dr. Rashid Ahmed Hossaini, Former Director Ashikur Rahman (Tuhin), Former Director Shovon Islam and many others.
In a brief speech, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, Former President Kazi Moniruzzaman and Director Dr. Rashid Ahmed Hossaini respectfully remembered the strong and uncompromising contribution of national leader Begum Khaleda Zia in the struggle for establishing democracy, her statesmanship and her long political journey.
Later, a special prayer was held jointly to pray for Begum Khaleda Zia’s speedy recovery and complete recovery from illness. The prayer was conducted by BGMEA Director Dr. Rashid Ahmed Hossaini.
On the same day, special prayers were also offered for the repose of the soul of former BGMEA president and former popular mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, Anisul Haque, on the occasion of his passing away.
