The China-Bangladesh Joint Cardiovascular Disease Clinic was officially inaugurated at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Bangladesh on Tuesday (December 2, 2025). It is being considered a significant addition to the history of health cooperation between the two countries.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Nurjahan Begum, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Department of Yunnan Province Ma Zhuoxin, Deputy Director of Fuwai Yunnan Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Shi Jinyang and other officials were present at the inauguration ceremony. A team of expert doctors from Fuwai Yunnan Hospital has already arrived in Bangladesh and started their activities.

Ambassador Yao Wen said that the establishment of the first China-Bangladesh joint cardiology clinic is a new milestone in mutual cooperation in the healthcare field of the two countries. He expressed hope that in the future, the two countries will work more closely in public health management, medical technology innovation and joint development in the health industry. In his words, this initiative will inject new momentum into the ‘Health Silk Road’.
Health Advisor Nurjahan Begum expressed gratitude for China’s long-term health assistance. She said that the establishment of this joint clinic is a tangible manifestation of the friendly cooperation between the two countries. She looked forward to deeper and longer-term cooperation in the health sector for the greater welfare of the people of Bangladesh.
