Energy Adviser Fauzul Kabir Khan calls for sustainable solar solutions to address climate-power-land challenges

Bangladesh is seeing a renewed focus on developing high-quality, sustainable and long-term value-added solar energy systems. Policymakers see ensuring quality technology and sustainability as key priorities for the future solar sector, along with addressing land scarcity, climate risks and grid constraints.

Energy Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan and EU Ambassador Michael Miller participated in an event on solar solutions organized by the European Union in the capital.

A comprehensive EU study was presented at the event, which linked European and global best practices to the real situation in Bangladesh. The study highlights advanced technologies, innovative business models, a map of European companies operating in the region, and specific guidelines for the engineering, procurement and construction of solar projects in the Bangladeshi context.

The EU delegation said that there is huge potential for further investment, cooperation and joint activities in the renewable energy sector of Bangladesh. The speakers said that if Bangladesh can implement climate-friendly and robust solar projects while maintaining high standards, it will not only address the power shortage, but also strengthen the path to energy security and green growth.
