Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Nicholas Weeks paid a courtesy call and a breakfast meeting with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his office in Bashundhara, the capital. In the meeting held at 9 am on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the Ambassador initially inquired about the health of the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and wished him a speedy recovery.
The meeting, held in a cordial and cordial atmosphere, discussed the overall situation in Bangladesh, Bangladesh-Sweden bilateral relations, investment and international affairs. The meeting assured that Sweden will continue its strong support to Bangladesh in the future. At the same time, optimism was also expressed about the possibility of increasing investment between the two countries.
Ambassador Nicholas Weeks was accompanied by Mr. Ole Lundin, Head of the Swedish Department of Trade, Politics and Communications, during the meeting. Present with the Ameer-e-Jamaat were the organization’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Publicity and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair, Central Executive Council Member Mr. Mubarak Hossain, Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Dhaka Metropolitan North Medical Thana Ameer Dr. SM Khaliduzzaman and North-South University Professor Mr. Rashedul Islam.
