Palestinian Ambassador to Dhaka Yousuf SY Ramadan paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson’s residence in Gulshan at 8:30 pm on Tuesday (September 30, 2025).
During the meeting, Begum Khaleda Zia strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Gaza and expressed deep shock and condolences over the massive casualties and destruction. She strongly demanded an immediate end to the war from the international community.
On the other hand, Palestinian Ambassador Yousuf SY Ramadan remembered martyred President Ziaur Rahman with respect. He said that during the government of Shaheed Zia, free land was provided in Bangladesh for the Palestine Embassy and later during the government of Begum Khaleda Zia, the embassy building was constructed on that land through donation. This was a reflection of the deep love and commitment of the BNP government and the Zia family towards the Palestinian government.
Also present during the meeting were BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Dr. Mohammad Enamul Haque Chowdhury and Chairperson’s Private Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.
