ASEAN Secretary-General Meets South Australian Minister to Boost Economic Cooperation

ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn this morning met with the Minister for Trade and Investment of South Australia, Hon. Joe Szakacs MP, on the sidelines of the Australia-ASEAN Business Forum 2025 in Adelaide, Australia.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared vision to strengthen economic cooperation between ASEAN and South Australia. They discussed ways to leverage opportunities under existing frameworks such as the ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement.

The discussions also highlighted strategic opportunities to expand trade, enhance investment flows, and promote sustainable economic partnerships that would accelerate growth across both regions.
