79th Anniversary of the Italian Republic Celebrated in Dhaka

The Embassy of Italy in Dhaka hosted a grand celebration on Sunday to mark the 79th Anniversary of the Italian Republic. The event commenced with the national anthems of both Bangladesh and Italy, followed by a cultural performance showcasing Italian heritage.

Dr. Asif Nazrul, Hon’ble Adviser to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, attended the event as the chief guest. In his remarks, he expressed gratitude to the Italian Ambassador for the invitation and said he was proud to attend the celebration. He also said that he was proud to be present at today’s event. Personally, he is a fan of Italian food and football. He expressed the hope that the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Italy are very strong, which will continue in the future.

He also highlighted that every year, a significant number of Bangladeshis travel to Italy for education, business, and employment, further strengthening the bilateral ties.

The Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh, Mr. Antonio Alessandro, warmly thanked all guests for attending the event. He praised the reform initiatives undertaken by Bangladesh’s interim government and reiterated his commitment to deepening collaboration between the two countries.

The celebration was attended by diplomats, business leaders, expatriate representatives, and distinguished guests from various sectors.
