5-member committee formed to ensure autonomy of BTV-Betar and review media policies

As per the recommendations of the Media Reform Commission, a five-member committee has been formed to ensure the autonomy of the state-owned Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar. This committee will work to prepare a roadmap for implementing the recommendations of the Media Reform Commission and will also review the policies of television and other media of the last 15 years and formulate future policies.

This committee will be led by Education Advisor CR Abrar. The other members of the committee are – Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul, Environment Advisor Rizwana Hasan, Road Transport and Bridges Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan.

This decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Thursday (June 19, 2025) noon.
