The 4th meeting of the Special Committee of the Thirteenth Parliament was held on Tuesday (June 30, 2026) at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban under the chairmanship of Zainul Abedin, MP, Chairman.
The meeting was attended by committee members and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin, Md. Abdul Bari, Muhammad Nowshad Zamir, Md. Mujibur Rahman and G, M, Nazrul Islam. Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain participated in the meeting at the invitation of the special committee.
At the beginning of the discussion, the minutes of the previous meetings were approved. In the meeting, the committee discussed and reported on the Bangladesh Medical University (Second Amendment) Bill, 2026 and decided to present it in the parliament.
The committee members reviewed in detail the country’s healthcare system to reach the doorsteps of the people.
The meeting was attended by concerned officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and senior officials of the National Parliament Secretariat.
