The “Visit Malaysia 2026 Fair,” organized by the Malaysia Tourism Board, was held today (Saturday, 6 December 2025) at InterContinental Dhaka. The event was attended by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, Mohd Shuhada Othman, as the chief guest.
Also present was Mohammed Akther Parvez, Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Chattogram and Managing Director of PHP Automobiles Limited.

During his speech, High Commissioner Mohd Shuhada Othman officially announced the launch of the “Visit Malaysia Year 2026 – Malaysia Truly Asia” campaign in Bangladesh. He expressed gratitude to InterContinental Dhaka, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, and all campaign partners.

He emphasized Malaysia’s keen interest in welcoming Bangladeshi visitors and invited everyone to explore Malaysia’s unique tourism attractions and world-class hospitality.

In response to a question from the media, the High Commissioner stated that Malaysia aims to attract at least 300,000 tourists from Bangladesh under the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

Addressing concerns about visa-related issues, he said the Malaysian E-Visa process is very simple, systematic, and user-friendly. He strongly advised all applicants to use the official visa link shared on the Malaysian High Commission’s verified Facebook page, and not to depend on third-party agents.
He further stressed the importance of submitting original and accurate documents, warning that any discrepancies may lead to blacklisting. He encouraged applicants to contact the High Commission directly whenever assistance is needed.

At the event, Mohammed Akther Parvez, Managing Director of PHP Automobiles Limited, said that they are representing Malaysia’s top automobile brand Perodua in Bangladesh.

He invited interested buyers and enthusiasts to visit their showrooms in Tejgaon’s Haat Khola area and in Chattogram. PHP currently offers four Perodua models and aims to deliver Malaysian-quality vehicles to Bangladeshi customers.

A new motorcycle model from PHP Automobiles Limited was also unveiled at the fair, drawing significant attention from visitors.

Notably, Visit Malaysia 2026 is Malaysia’s flagship national tourism campaign, showcasing the country’s culture, natural beauty, festivals, eco-tourism, and modern attractions to travelers worldwide. Through this campaign, Malaysia aims to welcome millions of international visitors in 2026.
