The 12th National SME Product Fair has begun at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon, the capital. The fair, organized by the SME Foundation under the Ministry of Industries, was inaugurated by Industry, Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan on Sunday (December 7) morning.
Six entrepreneurs were awarded the National SME Entrepreneur Award 2025 at the event. Six entrepreneurs were awarded the National SME Entrepreneur Award 2025. In the micro entrepreneur category, Miss Zuena Ferdous (Ahlad Fashion) of Rangpur was awarded in the female category and Mohammad Wahiduzzaman (Ribana) among the men. In the small entrepreneur category, Sirajam Munira (Sutar Kabyo) of Dinajpur was recognized with this national award as a woman and Mr. Amanullah (Aman Plastic Toys Industries) as a man. In the medium entrepreneur category, Aparajeyo Limited won the national award. In the medium entrepreneurship category, Kazi Mohammad Monir Hossain of Aparajeyo Limited and Mahfuzul Haque, entrepreneur of underwater robotics-based Dubo Tech Digital Limited, received the award. Each received an honorarium of one lakh taka.

At the event, Honorable Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman said that entrepreneurs from marginalized areas of the country are now becoming an important force in the national economy and the increase in the participation of women entrepreneurs has made this sector more dynamic. Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries S. D. Nurul said that proper branding and marketing are the most necessary issues for the SME sector in the present time. SME Foundation Chairman Nuruzzaman mentioned that 65 percent of the entrepreneurs in this year’s fair are women – which indicates the positive direction of economic change.
About 350 small and medium enterprises are participating in the fair, of which about 60 percent are women entrepreneurs. Products from various sectors including ready-made garments, handicrafts and crafts, jute, leather products, food processing, light engineering are being displayed and sold. The fair is open to the public from 10 am to 9 pm every day and entry is free.
Alongside the fair, six seminars on easy financing, export diversification, halal certification, patents and skill development will be held from December 8-10. Entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to connect with banks for loans, get advice and apply directly at the fair premises. The fair will continue till December 14.
